Feedback and Coaching are integral parts of both our working and personal lives. We use feedback as a tool to focus on the adjustment of previous behaviors to ensure the individual upholds accepted values, goals, and meets expectations. So while feedback is about reinforcing expected behavior, coaching is used as a preparative tool that focuses on potential possibilities through individualized direction and support. It is essential to understand that while feedback and coaching complement each other, they are two distinct interpersonal resources that, when appropriately deployed, have positive performance effects.
